Locktender – Rodin

Cleveland experimental hardcore project LOCKTENDER follows up its crushing debut full-length Kafka with RODIN, a brand new onset of profound post-rock exploration. The four-track LP will be released on April 1, 2014 by HALO OF FLIES in the US and the rest of the world by I.CORRUPT and DESORDRE ORDONNE. The members of Locktender (ex-Men As Trees) have devoted themselves to translating pieces of art through music, and Rodin is no different, based on four works by a sculptor of the same name.

Hardcore has for so long been associated with anger and dissatisfaction but Locktender have repeatedly been able to cross the channel and reach out to sonorous heights of jubilation and blithe lulls of quietude.”

Available for pre-order in early spring, 500 12″ copies of Rodin will be pressed, 250 on clear and 250 on black and full color jacket with art by Jon Weed.

Locktender is stupefyingly brilliant. From Cleveland, Ohio, this art-focused, art-soaked project has made every attempt to both set themselves apart from, and simultaneously set, the norm of heavy music. Where some in the hardcore and metal scenes dabble in kitschy, pseudo-philosophical puns, Locktender dives into the abyss of literature with arms overhead.
